Is Future Prints Childcare a licensed facility?

All Future Prints Childcare locations are licensed and censored by the New York State Office of Children & Family Services. Future Prints Childcare complies with all regulations enacted by the New York State Office of Children & Family Services. All facilities are licensed to provide care to 16 children.

What is the educational level of the providers?

Future Prints director has a Bachelor’s of Science from Stony Brook University, along with many hours of training in early care. Our staff meets and exceeds all state requirements. Most of our childcare providers hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) and many years of experience providing care to children of all ages. All employees are finger printed and background checked prior to employment.

What curriculum do you use?

Our flexible curriculum will give each child the opportunity to build their individual strengths and talents, while allowing them to learn new skills and expand their development. We will provide enriching opportunities every day for our children to reach their full potential socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually and cognitively within a learning environment.

In our programs we use the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies.

We are an education play based program and we are always updating our curriculum.

Do you have a daily schedule?

Our daily schedule provides routine for our children. Routine allows the children to feel safe and to develop a sense of mastery in handling their lives. Our schedule is built to prepare our children for their next milestones.

What is the latest i can bring my child?

Children must be in attendance before 9:00am. Children are not allowed after 9:30am as we run on a daily schedule; late arrivals can be disruptive to our schedule.

How do I register my child?

In order to register your child you will meet with the director and tour our facility. To secure your spot, you must pay a Non-refundable registration fee of $100. Tuition must be paid in advance before your child starts daycare.
You will be provided with a registration packet which include;

-Parent Contract, Registration Form, Tuition Agreement, Medical form, Media consent, Blue Card, Feeding/Diaper arrangements, Activity authorization, Non-medication form, and our daily schedule.

In addition to these forms you must provide copies of immunization record, birth certificate and health insurance card.

What are the tuition fees?

Tuition and fees are based on the child’s age and the chosen schedule. We offer limited full/part time, half days and after school enrollment.

At Future Prints you are paying for a specific slot, not per hour or per day. No discounts are given if your child does not attend daycare. This includes closings, illness, family emergencies, trainings, weather conditions, workshops, early dismissal and vacations. You are still responsible for paying all fees for your contracted days.

We accept cash, checks, Chase quick pay, and PayPal.

Hours of operation?

Future Prints Childcare 1 is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Future Prints Childcare 2 7:30 a.m. -6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Extended hours may be offer at the director’s discretion.

Is there a fee for late pick up?

We ask for last pick up to by 5:45 p.m.. After closing time late charges will be added at the rate of $1 per minute, due at pick up. All times in and out are taken from the clock at the day care.

Does Future Prints close?

Future Prints is open all year around with the exception of major holidays.

New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

What should I bring?

Please provide diapers, wipes, powder, any ointment (i.e. Desitin etc.), blankets, clothing and baby bottle/sippy cup. To eliminate the daily bundle of items to carry you may bring a package of each item to leave at daycare.

We will notify you if items are running low. Please mark all items with your child’s name.

We will supply sleeping mats, portable cribs/playpens. Parents will provide blankets, sheets – No pillows. Infant’s parents please provide a fitted sheet for the playpen.

Please do not bring diaper bags to daycare. All strollers must be closed when entering Future Prints.

What to expect during arrival and departure?

Please sign-in during arrival, we would appreciate if you inform us with any changes over night. E.g. up all night, up earlier than usual, bowel movements, eating well or not well. Also please communicate any instruction for the day such as “I’m picking up early or someone one will be picking up”.

Children are to arrive clean no later than 9:00 a.m. It is normal for children to be hesitant and sometimes even cry when dropping them off. Please be very brief (no more than 5 minutes is sufficient) during drop off times. The longer you prolong the departure the harder it gets. A smile, cheerful good-bye kiss, and a reassuring word that you will be back is all you need to do.

At departure you must sign-out. We will inform you of any changes or pertinent information during the day. We will also ask for supplies if we are running low.

How parents are kept informed about their child’s progress?

Communication is the key to a successful childcare. We communicate with parents on a daily basis at drop off and pick up times. BrightWheel app is updated with pertinent information throughout the day. (infants only). Parents are welcome to schedule a teacher meeting any time they want to speak about their child, or any issue in their child’s classroom. During emergencies parents will be contact immediately.

We also provide parents with quarterly newsletters, which include current and upcoming events.

What will happen in the case of an emergency?

You will be contacted immediately. In case we are unable to reach you, we will contact the alternative emergency contact. You are expected to pick up your child as quickly as possible.

Can Future Prints Childcare administer medication?

As per NYS guidelines we are able to administer two medications only; Albuterol and/or nebulizer for children with Asthma and epinephrine auto-injector for children with severe allergies both need to be provided by parent.

We are authorized to apply over the counter ointments only such as diaper cream, sun screen protection and insect repellent with parent permission.

What other languages are spoken at Future Prints?

Future Prints Childcare is dual language program. Our bilingual teachers immerse children to Spanish in a way that is fun and age appropriate and use an award-winning curriculum.

Would there be any reason why my child would not be admitted to the center?

Future Prints Childcare is a multi-cultural childcare center. We do not discriminate in relation to admissions of any child on basis of race, creed, color, national origin, religion, sex, or disability. Every child is accommodated base on their needs and the services we can provide to fulfill those needs.

What is the discipline method at the center?

We believe the most effective ways of encouraging positive behaviors are through; Praise, Respect, Re-Direction, and Positive Re-Enforcement. We will try to get children involved in their own problem solving. During conflict it is important for children to feel respected, secure, loved, important and special Our goal is to coach the children so they can negotiate compromise, brainstorm and work it out together.

Absolutely no physical form of punishment is allowed. The children will take a “Break” or “Cooling Down” method of behavior management is used.

Will my child ever learn to speak in English?

Yes! We are dual language; we will speak both English and Spanish. We believe that English language acquisition is inevitable where English is the majority language. Being in a Spanish immersion program will not affect literacy in English as almost all aspects of literacy transfer across languages.

Do you provide food?

Meals are included. We provide breakfast, lunch, snacks and supper.

All food are prepared fresh, served and stored in accordance with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.

Whole milk is served to children less than 2yrs and 1% milk to children over 2yrs old.

Parent’s must provide formula or breast milk.

Please let us know if your child is allergic to any particular food.

What type of cleaning products and method use to prevent disease?

As per state guidelines we are to prepare daily mixtures of Clorox and water, which are use to sanitize food preparing area, diaper changing and other areas. Our staff wears gloves during diaper changes or any encounters with body fluids. Toys are constantly sanitized. Our children are also practice washing their hands multiple times during the day.

What is your Sick Policy?

Sick children may not attend daycare. This is a state regulation. Sick children make the other children sick too. “Sick”, according to the regulations is any child that may be running a fever, has a rash, unexplained symptoms, or who appears to be less that healthy. If a child becomes ill at day care, the parents will be notified and expected to pick up the child as soon as possible. Sick children will be isolated from the rest of the children.

We ask that your child should be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to day care. If the child is showing symptoms of an illness, we will ask parent to provide a doctor’s note saying the child is symptom free.

What is your open door policy?

Parents are always welcome in our facility.

How can i terminate my contract with Future Prints?

Parent/Guardian will give two weeks written notice, and two weeks full payment to terminate your child’s enrollment in child care regardless as to whether your child is present.

Is there quiet time or rest time?

Our quiet time is from approximately 1pm to 3pm. Children are encouraged to rest, those who choose not to rest will be provided with a quiet activity. Each child has his own cot and is asked to bring a fitted crib sheet for covering; No sleeping bags, please. All bedding must be taken home and laundered every Friday, and returned on Monday.

Infants have different pattern and rest on their own schedule.
